ThePneumatic Hybrid Vehicle would be a new type of automotive vehicle that would utilize an air compressor as the drive source for the vehicle.

• The body and frame of the vehicle would be made from sturdy but lightweight metal materials and the Air Power would be made available in different models.

• The Pneumatic Hybrid Vehicle would be comprised of several major systems - as are standard in automobiles - which would consist of a drive source, a braking system, a steering system,
a suspension system, and a power train.

• The drive source for the Pneumatic Hybrid Vehicle would be an air compressor. The air compressor would be initially started by a small, gasoline, 5 horse power engine to allow the compressor to build up air which would be transferred through the drive shaft by means of a modified accelerator pedal, thus powering the vehicle with Air Power. The amount of compressed air supplied to the drive train would be controlled by a foot operated lever or pedal which is varied by the driver to control the speed of the Air Power vehicle.

• A second lever would be readily available to the driver and would be used to switch between forward and reverse propulsion mode.

• The drive shaft of the motor would be linked to an alternator which produces electricity that would be used for the vehicles lighting and other electrically operated devices.

The Pneumatic Hybrid Vehicle would be self sustaining and require far less gasoline, thus greatly reducing pollution and the need for fossil fuels.

• Pneumatic energy or Air Power would provide an endless supply of clean, inexpensive energy which could be greatly beneficial to the environment, decrease our need to rely on foreign oil, and possibly save millions of dollars in fuel each year.

•The Pneumatic Hybrid Vehicle would also remove pollutants and filter the incoming air with special filters located at the intake of the compressor.

• With the rising cost of gasoline and environmental issues, the Pneumatic Hybrid Vehicle would be a welcome change and should be well received by the majority of automobile owners and operators, an extremely sizeable market potential.
